Privacy Policy
The short version: Loose Threads doesn't collect your data. What you say and what you write stays on your phone, where we can't see it.

Who we are
Loose Threads, for iPhone, is made by Daniel Kewley in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about this policy or your data, email support@loosethreadsapp.com.
What we collect
Nothing, through the app. Loose Threads has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it has no server of its own. The app doesn't send anything about you, what you say or how you use it to us or to anyone else.
Your voice and your notes stay on your phone
When you talk to Loose Threads, your voice is turned into text on your phone using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The audio isn't kept and isn't sent anywhere. The text is then turned into a short list using Apple's on-device intelligence, which also runs on your phone. Your notes, the things on your list and your settings are saved on your phone only. They never come to us.
If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or to a computer, Apple may include the app's saved notes in that backup, under Apple's own terms and security. We can't see or access it. Deleting the app deletes its notes from your phone.
Permissions
- Microphone and speech recognition: so you can talk to the app. They're only used while you're recording. You can type instead, and you can turn either permission off in your iPhone's Settings.
- Notifications: only if you turn on the daily nudge. It's a reminder set on your phone, at a time you choose. It doesn't involve a server.
Purchases
Loose Threads Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment. We never see your card or payment details, or your name or email address. Apple only tells the app which Loose Threads purchases your Apple Account owns, so it can turn Pro on. Subscriptions and refunds are managed by Apple.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics about Loose Threads. These don't identify you, and we only use them to fix problems. You can turn this off at any time in your device's Privacy & Security settings.
If you email us
If you contact support, we'll have your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply to you. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your email. We delete support emails once they're no longer needed.
This website
loosethreadsapp.com uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. The server that hosts it keeps standard, short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to keep it running and secure.
Children
Loose Threads isn't aimed at children, and it doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. In practice the only personal data we might hold is a support email you've sent. Email support@loosethreadsapp.com and we'll help. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
If Loose Threads changes in a way that affects your privacy, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app.
